The contemporary sports industry is complex and increasingly business oriented. The Sports Management major focuses on building leadership skills for students interested in the business of sports. Students have the benefit of a strong general business foundation combined with special knowledge and experience in the areas that
are critical for success in sports management.
The program provides students with specific competencies in management, financial analysis, marketing, operations management, and communications as they relate to the sports industry.
The program requires the student to gain practical experience through a sports related internship
or co-op experience.

Flexible Scheduling
The business administration program is offered during the day meeting the educational needs of traditional students. The program supplies students with a wide variety of academic services.

These services include:
 Academic Advising

 Access to computer labs and study rooms at all campus locations
 Internet access to library and bookstore services

Early Access Program
Maryville's Early Access Program (more. . .) lets you earn both a BS and MBA by including twelve hours of graduate credit in your undergraduate degree.

Graduate Business Program
A Master of Business Administration (more. . .) is offered within the John E. Simon School of Business.  The MBA program blends academic study with professional experience in a curriculum that allows the student to apply classroom concept to current employment activities.

Bachelor of Science in Sports Management

 




The Sports Management Major is a 21 credit hour emphasis on Sports Management. In addition to a minimum of 48 hours in general education, all students would take the 33 hour general business core plus the sports courses listed below.
