Administration. Dr. Ping
Deng earned his B.A. from Chongqing University, M.S. from
The People's University of China, and M.A. and Ph.D. from
Old Dominion University.

Karen Fletcher,
Lecturer of Information Systems. B.S. Applied
Mathematics with a Computer Science emphasis,
University of Missouri - St. Louis (1982), M.B.A.
with an e-Business concentration, Maryville
University (2004). Ms. Fletcher has over 20
years of experience in manufacturing, distribution
and health care applications with a concentration in
EDI and health care integration. She has
served as a consultant for BJC Healthcare,
Energizer, Nordyne, Emerson Electric and Graybar.
In 2003, she joined the faculty of Maryville
University as a lecturer.

Dr. Felix Kwan,
Associate Professor of Economics,
Finance. Dr. Kwan
earned his B.S. from the University of
San Carlos, M.S. from the Center for Research and
Communication and M.A. and Ph.D. from Washington University.
William Lange,
Professor of Management. Mr. Lange earned his B.A.
from Westminister College, M.B.A. from
Saint Louis University and his J.D. from Oklahoma City
University.

Dr. John Lewington, Assistant Dean and
Professor of Marketing and Management. B.Sc. (Hons) in
Production Engineering, The City University (1971, London); M.Sc. in
Business Administration, City University Business School (1979);
Ph.D. in Marketing, The Open University (U.K.). His research and
consulting activities comprise the management of database marketing
systems, interactive and e-marketing strategies. His peer-reviewed
paper “Harnessing the Power of Database Marketing Systems” was the
first to define a systems model for data-driven marketing
strategies. Dr. Lewington is a past president of the St. Louis
Chapter of the American Marketing Association, a member of the World
Affairs Council (St. Louis), and the English Speaking Union.

Dr. Patricia Parker,
Professor of Management. Dr. Parker received her
Ph.D. in Management from St. Louis University (1994), her
MBA from Southern Illinois University (1982) and a BS in
Accounting from the University of Missouri (1977). She
has been at Maryville University since 1984 teaching both
graduate and undergraduate classes in Management Science.
Her research interests include: employee development, job
satisfaction, leadership and ethical behavior. For

Dr. Barbara Petzall,
Professor of Management. Dr.
Petzall earned her B.A., B.S., and M.B.A. from the
University of Missouri -- St. Louis, and Ph.D. from Saint
Louis University.
Mark
Roman, Associate Professor of Accounting.
Mr. Roman earned his B.S. and M.S.A. at Truman State
University and an M.S.T. at Fontbonne University. He has
also passed the CPA exam. He began his career in
higher education in 1987 and has spent the last 18 years
teaching a variety of accounting classes and serving as an
administrator for seven of those years. Mr. Roman has also
worked with both local and national accounting firms on a
part-time basis.
Mr. Roman is a member of the Financial Executives
International (FEI) and the Missouri Society of Certified
Public Accountants (MSCPA). He has recently served on the
College Relations Committee for the Institute of Internal
Auditors (IIA) and the LEAP (Lead and Enhance the Accounting
Profession) Task Force of the MSCPA’s.
