The MBA program at Maryville University blends academic study with professional experience in a curriculum that allows the student to apply classroom concepts to current employment activities. The student's professional position serves as a laboratory where management theory is used to solve concrete problems in the student's business environment.

The MBA is a professional degree with emphasis on business theory and techniques. Students develop competencies appropriate to perform traditional managerial functions; the program also emphasizes a flexible approach to leadership to enable future managers to respond to a rapidly changing business environment.

Maryville offers a choice of evening or Saturday classes at our main campus in West St. Louis County.  Each evening class meets one night per week for four hours. Saturday classes meet on alternating weeks for the entire semester.  The MBA program requires a minimum of 12 courses for 36 credit hours which take approximately two years, part-time.   Because of our rolling enrollment, students may enter at the start of any session.  Students may select a concentration in Accounting, Marketing, Management, or E-Business by completing 12 credit hours of electives in the area.

Maryville is regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Schools & Colleges and nationally accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP).

The GMAT is required for admission (minimum score of 430) for all students with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0.  To be considered, the test must have been taken within the last seven years. The GMAT is waived for undergraduate business degree students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher or if the prospective student has already completed a Master's Degree from an accredited university.

The John E. Simon School of Business offers you a program that is student-centered and practice-oriented.  There are many challenges associated with managing in today's business world and at Maryville, we believe our faculty and our curriculum are successfully meeting those challenges.

I hope you will agree with that assessment after you have examined our program.   If there is any additional information you need, please call me at (314)529-9334.  I will be happy to talk with you on the phone or make an appointment for you to see our lovely campus.

Sincerely
Kathy Dougherty
