Permit Application Form

Parking and Traffic Regulations before applying.
Print and complete the Parking Permit Application Form (see Download below),
forms are also available in the Public Safety office, and return it to the
Public Safety office located in the lobby of Duchesne Hall.
Parking And Traffic Regulations

Section I - Parking

All faculty, staff and students must
register their vehicle's) with the Public Safety Department and display
a valid parking permit while parking on the Maryville University campus
-
No vehicle may be parked or left
unattended in any roadway, driveway, loading or unloading area.
Vehicles may not block a sidewalk at anytime. Parking is
prohibited in any area designated as a "no parking" area by sign or
curb/space painting. Parking on grass is strictly prohibited and
no vehicle may occupy more than one space.

Vehicles may only park in areas where
the class of permit they have received is valid.

Only visitors may occupy spaces
designated as "visitor parking". faculty, staff, students, food
service employees, etc., are all considered members of Maryville
University and are not permitted to park in the visitor spaces.

Parking regulations are enforced 24
hours a day. Unless the parking sign clearly dictates a certain
time of parking enforcement ( i.e. Faculty/Staff Parking only from
7am-5pm), all
regulations should be considered enforceable at all times.

All overnight visitors are required to
register their vehicles and obtain a visitor's pass from the Public
Safety Office located in the lobby of Duchesne Hall.

All parking regulations of the
University and state laws of Missouri must be obeyed at all times while
parking on campus.

No person shall park in a designated
handicapped space without a state issued handicapped placard.
Violators are subject to a fine not only by the University but the Town
& Country Police Department. Fines will range from $50-$300.

If a vehicle is parked that interferes
with the safe flow of traffic or poses a safety concern to the
community, that vehicle will be subject to tow at the owner's expense.

If a member of the Maryville community
(faculty, staff, student) receives more than 3 citations in one semester
or 6 in an academic year, they may lose their parking privileges on all
University property.
Section II - Traffic Regulations

All vehicles shall be operated in
accordance with the laws and ordinances of the State of Missouri, St,
Louis County, Town & Country, and Maryville University. Violation of
these laws may subject the offender to whatever penalties shall be
assigned by courts or University judicial/administrative process.

The speed limit on campus shall be 20
M.P.H on the roadways and 10 M.P.H in the parking lots unless conditions
exists that warrant a reduction in these speeds, i.e. weather,
construction, pedestrians, etc.

All vehicles are required to obey all
traffic control devices.

No vehicle shall operate in a careless
or imprudent manner.

All vehicle operators are required to
obey directions given to them by any Public Safety Officer or designated
law enforcement official.
Fines, Payments and
Appeals

Paying Fines
All parking and traffic violations are $15.00 with the
exception of parking in a handicapped space, which is $100.00. All fines
must be paid within 7 business days to the Cashier in the University
Business Office located in Gander Hall. Fines may be paid by mail by sending
a check to Maryville University, c/o Cashiers Office, 650 Maryville
University Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141. All checks must be made out to
Maryville University.
Appeal Process
Any person may appeal a citation for any violation. The
appeal must be submitted using the
Parking Appeal Violation Form (On-line), forms are also available in the
Public Safety office. Please complete the appeal form and return it to the
Public Safety office within seven (7) business days after the citation was
issued. Failure to appeal the citation before the listed deadline shall
result in an automatic plea of guilty for the offense and the posting of the
fine to your account. The appeals board will meet monthly and after all
appeals are decided upon, a notice will be sent to the community advising
the outcome has been posted at the Public Safety office. Decisions are
posted by the ticket number so please retain a copy of your ticket to
cross-reference the board’s decision. All decisions by the board are final
and no further appeals process is available.
Any person with more than 3 violations per semester or 6
during the academic year may lose their privilege to park a vehicle on the
Maryville campus.
