Director Parkinson has been employed at Maryville University since August 2002. He has a B.A. in Sociology from Knox College in Galesburg, IL and a M.A. in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. He has over 15 years of law enforcement and security experience. Director Parkinson is a certified Rape Aggression Defense (RAD), CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), and OCAT (Oleoresin Capsicum Aerosol Training) instructor. Mike also is a trainer for the IACLEA Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness program and the Simulated Based Incident Command Systems (ICS) Training for Command Personnel.

Justin Medley
Office Manager
R.A.D Instructor
Mr. Medley has been employed at Maryville University since April 2006. He also worked at the University from October 2001 through July 2005 as a dispatcher and public safety officer. Officer Medley was promoted in September 2006 to the Office Manager position where he will be responsible for the "day to day" operations of the public safety office. Officer Medley is a certified R.A.D. instructor and is attending Maryville pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

Mark Decker

Bike Patrol
Senior Lead Officer Decker has been employed at Maryville since September 2007. Mark is a certified Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D), Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and OC Spray instructor. He received his certification from the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) and supervises the department bike patrol program.

Shawn Doyle
Second Shift

Officer Doyle has been employed as public safety officer since March 2002. Shawn graduated from the Broadcast Center in December 1998 and is currently enrolled at Maryville seeking his bachelor degree in Education. Officer Doyle has completed the 40 hour "Tier2" program through the St. Louis County Police Department. Officer Doyle is also a bike officer and has completed the IPMBA certification course. In March 2007, Officer Doyle received certification as an ASP Instructor through the St. Louis County Police Academy.

Greg Gray
Third Shift
Officer Gray holds a B.S. in Administration of Justice from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Officer Gray has previously been employed as a State Probation & Parole Officer, Correctional Caseworker with the City of St. Louis and a Correctional Officer for the State of Illinois. Officer Gray is currently enrolled as a graduate student at Maryville in the Rehabilitation Counseling Program.

Russ Marks
First Shift
Officer Marks has been employed as public safety officer since March 2002. He has an Associates Degree in Applied Science. He is a military combat veteran and worked as a site supervisor with the Professional Security Bureau before joining the Maryville University Public Safety Department. Officer Marks has completed the 40 hour "Tier2" program through the St. Louis County Police Department.

Gregory Moore
Third Shift
Officer Moore has been employed as a public safety officer since September 2006. Officer Moore has over 14 years of security experience. He is certified in P.P.C.T. and crisis intervention. Officer Moore is currently assigned to third shift.

Jess Tayloe
Third Shift
Officer Tayloe has been employed as a public safety officer since July 2003. He has a B.S. in Recreation from Southeast Missouri State and a M.S. from Central Missouri State University in Student Personnel Administration. Officer Tayloe has several years experience working in higher education as a housing director and staff development coordinator at other universities. Officer Tayloe has completed the 40 hour "Tier2" program through the St. Louis County Police Department.

Jerry Poli
First Shift
Officer Poli has been employed as a public safety officer since November 2006. Officer Poli retired from the Elmwood Park Illinois Police Department after 28 years of service. He was a Juvenile Division Supervisor for several years as well as the department Public Relations Officer. He also authored a monthly police column in the Pioneer Press community newspaper and served 11 years as a trustee for the Elmwood Park Public Library Board.
