Your telephone line is connected to the campus voice mail system. Waiting messages will be indicated by a red light on your phone for Faculty/Staff or by a tone when you pick up the handset for Students. Some of the most frequently asked question about our voice mail system are:

Reminder: It is important to listen to the prompts. The voice mail system will walk you through the different process with the appropriate prompts.
From on-campus dial 9200 or from off-campus dial 314-529-9200. Enter your four digit extension followed by #. At the next prompt, enter your password followed by #. You are now logged into the voice mail system. You may perform any or all of the following functions.
Helpful Hint: If you are calling from your campus phone, it is not necessary to enter your extension number. Instead press # and then enter your password followed by #.
Helpful Hint: If you try to login into your voice mailbox with an incorrect password three times in a row, your mailbox will automatically be disabled. If this happens, please call x9465 or x9560 to have your mailbox enabled.

It is recommended that you change your password the first time you login to the system. After you have logged in, press 84. Enter your new password followed by # at the prompt. Your new password must be four digits. Enter your new password followed by # for a second time at the prompt. Enter your old password followed by #. If you have forgotten your password, please call Susan Jones x9465 or Tom Kempf x9560.

After you have logged into your mailbox, press 82. Press 1 for external greeting (greeting heard by off-campus callers) or press 2 for internal greetings (greeting heard by on-campus callers). Press 5 to record your greeting. Wait for the tone before you speak. Press # to end recording.
Helpful Hint: You can listen to your greeting by pressing 2 or delete the greeting by pressing 76.

This option is helpful if you are away from your office for a period of time. After you have logged into your mailbox, press 82. Press 3 to select your temporary greeting. This greeting will be heard by internal and external callers. Press 5 and record your temporary greeting. Press # to end the recording. Press 2 to listen to your greeting. Press 9 to set the temporary greeting expiration date and time. Press the expiration month (1 or 2 digits) followed by the #. Press the expiration day (1 or 2 digits) followed by the #. Press the expiration time (1 to 4 digits) followed by the time. Press 1 for AM or 2 for PM. The expiration date and time will be played back to you.

After you have logged into your mailbox, press 89. Press 5 and at the tone say your name. Press # to end the recording. Press 2 to listen to your personal verification.

Express Messaging allows you to leave a message in another voice mailbox without logging into the voice mail system. Dial 9201 from on-campus or 314-529-9201 from off-campus. Enter the four digit extension of the person to receive the message. Press # and record your message after the tone.
