The late Josephine Reynolds Medart – a 1926 Maryville graduate and philanthropist – endowed this annual series as a way to continue the liberal arts tradition and enhance the cultural fabric of the University and surrounding community. The series, which began in 1993, features notable speakers and performances from the arts and humanities.
