Travis AgneUniversity Seminar LeaderHometown: Belleville, IL Major: Actuarial Science Why did you choose Maryville? Maryville beat out the other colleges I was looking out for two main reasons. I enjoyed the small size because it meant smaller classes and a better chance to make a difference on campus and Maryville also had the best Actuarial Program out of the schools I looked at. Getting involved at Maryville is very easy and with so many things offered, it is easy to find your niche and easy to try new things out.

There is absolutely nothing that I could possibly emphasize more. Getting involved right away has allowed me to make the most of my freshman year. By getting involved you will have the best of opportunities to create a lasting impression at Maryville. By getting involved right away you will also be able to form valuable friendships and relationships that will prove to be lasting and very influential on the course of not only their Maryville experience but the rest of their life.

I transferred to Maryville because of the strength of its actuarial science program. Maryville also gave me great opportunities to help my future. Don't be scared. A lot of times kids come into college expecting that it is going to be completely overwhelming and hard to handle. While it is a new experience, you will be able to adjust to the new lifestyle and you will feel more confident after you give it some time.
