February 9, 2007
Four members of Maryville University’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) will have the honor of representing the University at the National Association for Campus Activities’ national convention, to be held February 17-21, in Nashville, Tenn. The students are (left to right in the photo) Erika Althoff, Andrew Baumgartner, Ally Randolph and Scott Rhodes.
“The students were selected based on their past contribution and their future potential leadership in CAB,” said Leslie Heusted, director of student involvement. Heusted and Brian Gardner, program coordinator, student involvement, also are attending the convention, where they will co-present the educational session “How To Make Your Events Thrilling!”
The Maryville students will attend educational sessions, and participate in mainstage and lecture showcases. They will incorporate what they learn into planning on-campus activities, Heusted said.
The students are excited to represent Maryville at a national convention. “This is a great opportunity to spend time with fellow students and have a great time finding new and interesting performers and novelties to bring to Maryville,” said Althoff of Effingham, Ill., a junior majoring in music therapy. “From this experience, I’ll be able to bring back new, exciting ideas to CAB, as well as prepare for my role as NACA’s MidAmerica regional student representative,” remarked Randolph of Imperial, Mo., a sophomore majoring in organizational leadership.
Baumgartner of Fenton, a sophomore majoring in communications, serves as CAB’s marketing director. “It is always a pleasure to represent Maryville, especially on a national level,” he said. Rhodes of Wildwood is a junior majoring in accounting and information systems.
